10th Annual Competition (2017) Exhibition will be on from November 4-12, 2017
The Annual Japanese Calligraphy Competition in Canada creates an opportunity for Canadians of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a unique cultural forum to further their individual pursuit of Shodo. The entries are adjudicated by a jury of Shodo Masters in Japan then exhibited at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto. Support is provided by The Consulate-General of Japan, The Japan Foundation and the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.

Submissions for the 2017 competition will be accepted until February 28th, and will then be reviewed by the panel of judges in Canada and Japan. We expect an impressive collection of work, and we are very excited to have you join us for the Annual Exhibition this fall. Works come from across the country, with strong representation from the Southern-Ontario region where instructional classes and workshops are led by Sensei Noriko Maeda.
