Competition and Exhibition 2025
The Annual Japanese Calligraphy Competition in Canada creates an opportunity for Canadians of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a unique cultural forum to further their individual pursuit of Shodo. The entries are adjudicated by a jury of Shodo Masters in Japan. Submissions for the 2025 competition will be accepted until February 28th, and will then be reviewed by the panel of judges in Canada and Japan. Support is provided by The Consulate-General of Japan, The Japan Foundation and the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.
17th Japanese Calligraphy Competition in Canada 2024
SHODO CANADA will celebrate this year's Award Winners to the 17th Japanese Calligraphy Competition in Canada hosted by Sensei Noriko Maeda. With many award winners in attendance, the following honoured guests will deliver live speeches and greetings: Consul-General of Japan, Mr. Takuya Sasayama; Executive Director of the Japan Foundation Toronto, Ms. Noriko Yamamoto; Executive Director of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, Mr. James Heron.
